The almost-the-end-of-summer tradition, Late Nite with Conrad O’MacIntyre (A.K.A. Talent Show Finals) happened in early august and the talent level was simply off the hook. So see what these students were capable of was fantastic and we want to show them off a little.

I think it’s also worth noting that, for the second year in a row, ConnXion beat Fusion for the top spot – and the competition was fierce, so that’s saying something! Honourable mention to all our students, but the first place finisher with Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Something” was Abdul!

ConFusion (a joined event between ConnXion & Fusion) took nearly 50 students to the Cultus Lake Water Slides yesterday. Good times were has by all, and only a little sunburn to go around. With only two events let in our summer semester we are very pleased with how it has gone and we are looking forward to both Late Nite (our annual talent show finals) and the Last Hurrah (grad and water fight).

Metro Kids relies on our vehicles and drivers to survive. They are the lifeline we toss to the children, teens and families that we are trying to reach. Our programs are nothing if the people cannot get to our centre safely, and we need YOUR help!!

In order to keep our vehicles, insured, fueled and safe for another year we need to raise $30, 000. It is our goal to see that number reached before December 31st. Our thanks to Guildford Golf and Country Club for graciously offering 4 sets of weekday green fees which will be given to 4 of our supporters. Donate online, or by mail for your chance to win!!! The Fusion leadership team decided it was high-time the youth got involved in giving back to the community with a service project. So we decided to go with a local charity that has been gaining a lot of headway and making a real dent in the city of Surrey – Nightshift.

The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and we spent some time groundskeeping, removing used pipes and needles from the surrounding shrubbery, and sorting and folding clothes for distribution. It was a great experience to share with our students and we are looking forward to stepping out in this area again.
